FAQ — Google Search Console Claude Connector

Everything you need to know about installing and using the NotFair Google Search Console connector inside Claude.

What is the Google Search Console Claude Connector?

It's a custom MCP (Model Context Protocol) connector you add inside Claude Desktop, Claude.ai Web, or Claude Cowork. Once installed, Claude reads your Google Search Console properties in real time — search queries, page-level clicks and impressions, CTR, average position, index coverage, and sitemaps — then summarizes, diagnoses, and answers questions over your live organic-search data.

How is this different from the Claude Code plugin and Codex setup?

Same NotFair backend, different client. The connector is for Claude.ai Web, Desktop, and Cowork. The Claude Code plugin wires the same MCP into Anthropic's terminal agent, and the Codex guide does the same for OpenAI's Codex CLI. Capabilities are identical across all three.

Where does this connector work?

Anywhere Claude supports remote custom connectors: Claude Desktop, Claude.ai on the web, and Claude Cowork. If you use Claude Code or Codex, NotFair exposes the same MCP server you can wire up with a single command.

Do I need to write any code?

No. Setup is entirely point-and-click inside Claude Connectors. Open the Add custom connector flow, paste the NotFair Google Search Console server URL, click Add, and Claude opens a browser tab to sign you in with Google — no Client ID or Secret to copy.

How long does setup take?

Under 2 minutes. Open the Add custom connector flow in Claude, paste the NotFair Google Search Console server URL, click Add, then approve the Google sign-in and choose which verified properties NotFair should access.

Is the connector free?

Yes. Adding the NotFair Google Search Console connector is free with no credit card. Paid plans unlock higher usage limits and team features.

Can Claude change anything in my Google Search Console through the connector?

Almost entirely read-only. The only writes are sitemap management — submitting or removing a sitemap — and both are proposed in chat and require your explicit confirmation first. Claude cannot touch anything else in your Google Search Console.

Can I revoke access later?

Yes. From /connect/google_search_console you can revoke the connection at any time, which invalidates the Claude OAuth token issued for it. You can also remove NotFair from your Google account permissions.

What data does Claude see when the connector is enabled?

Live Google Search Console data scoped to the properties you connect: verified properties and permission levels, Search Analytics (clicks, impressions, CTR, average position) by query, page, country, device, or date, single-URL index inspection, and submitted sitemaps. Tokens are encrypted at rest and refreshed server-side.
